Picturesque East Coast of Canada : Brampton – Quebec – New Brunswick – Nova Scotia – Road Trip
A road trip to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia via Quebec would be about 4600 – 5000 kms depending on the local travel that you do. The itinerary I am giving below has a good mix of natural beauty / landmarks, adventure activities, history and experiencing the cuture and cuisine . Great trip for families and it can be planned to suit any budget. We took 15 days to do it and I would not recommend going any shorter.
We did not focus on the big cities much but we did pass through them. Ocassionally you might want to get into one for dinner or to watch a show.
The highlights of the tour would be :
– Grand Falls – mini Niagara falls ; and many more attractions on the way to Fundy National Park. Make sure you start early in the morning from Quebec City to cover Grand Falls, Nackawic, Fredrickton and the other attractions so you can reach Fundy before sunset.
– the Bay of Fundy world famous for the highest tides and beautiful dynamic coastline
– Shubenacadie river for Tidal bore rafting
– Louisbourg for its Fort and Coal mine around it
– Sydney – beautiful city; bird island tour
– Baddeck – Alexander Graham Bell museum
– Cape Breton – the breathtaking Cabot’s Trail; wildlife;
– Kouchibouguac National Park – Marine life
– Acadieville – for the Big bear safari
– Mt. Carleton – trek in the Appalachian mountains
